"The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read." –Mark Twain
Brief Biography
In 1996 my daughter was in Kindergarten at Blue Diamond Elementary School. It was there, as a parent volunteer that I decided to embark upon a career in Education. I began as a substitute teacher in 1997 as I continued my studies at UNLV. I wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into, before I finished my degree; I loved it and never looked back. My experience includes elementary education, 6th grade Life Science, 8th grade Physical Science and Blended Learning. I took that love of learning and education and instilled that into my daughter. She graduated from UNLV with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Science. Together we are the dynamic duo.

I love technology and I owe that love to my mother. She began an endeavor in the 1970’s to become a computer programmer at VOTECH, but life took her in another direction. However she never lost her love of computers, which she instilled in me. She was in her 70’s and using her computer everyday. We bought her a Kindle and rarely saw her without it. I could never understand why schools kept purchasing expensive textbooks when they could have supplied Kindle’s instead; then the ipad came out. Students could have the world at their fingertips. My mom didn’t live to see the ipad, but if she did it would have been her constant companion, as it is mine.
